Tunisia's upcoming presidential election, scheduled for October 6th, will feature three candidates, including incumbent President Kais Saied, announced Farouk Bouasker, chairman of the Independent High Authority for Electoral Affairs.
In addition to the current head of state, former members of parliament Zouhair Maghzaoui and Ayachi Zammel will also take part in the presidential race, according to the local media.
The Independent High Electoral Authority rejected the candidacies of three other politicians—Imed Daïmi, Mondher Zenaidi, and Abdellatif Mekki—despite their documents having been previously approved by the Administrative Court.
