The 2024 Eastern Economic Forum is set to take place on September 3-6 at the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok. Putin is scheduled to address the plenary session of the event.
The Forum events are traditionally held in the form of panel discussions, round tables, TV debates, business breakfasts and business dialogues on Russia's relations with various countries of the world.
The 1st Eastern Economic Forum was held on September 3-5, 2015, and was addressed by President Putin. EEF 2015 was attended by 1.8 thousand people and guests and 32 official foreign delegations. More than 80 contracts worth over 1.3 trillion rubles ($14.5 billion) were signed.
Since then, the forum has been held annually in the city of Vladivostok, except in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last year, the 8th EEF was attended by more than 7,000 participants from 62 countries, including about 2,400 business representatives. At least 373 agreements were signed in the total amount of 3.818 trillion rubles ($42.5 billion), including 41 deals with foreign companies.
