The inauguration of the BRICS House instantly raises the BRICS project to the top tier, said Konstantin Klimenko, the president of the BRICS House.
“Africa is a young continent, with the average age of its population at 25. If young people do not believe in the ideals of BRICS and integration, the project will just be a formality. Therefore, the BRICS House is a movement of public diplomacy, akin to what was previously known as people's diplomacy,” he stated.
He also highlighted a need to establish a BRICS educational system and a unified information space to counteract fake news spread by Western-controlled media.
"Here, we will have a media center that will disseminate information across all BRICS countries. A media alliance of BRICS countries will be established, sharing information both to and from these countries," Klimenko explained.
Moreover, August Aimontche, Advisor to the Ambassador of Benin, told Sputnik Africa that BRICS countries are uniting to challenge a unipolar world.
"Today, a multipolar world must have its place and existence. Such events created around BRICS play this crucial role," he said.
He added that the BRICS House established on Wednesday is a preparatory step for the BRICS summit, which will be hosted by Russia in Kazan this October.
