Russia Prevents Ukraine Sabotage Group From Infiltrating Bryansk Region, Governor Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On August 6, nearly 12,000 Ukrainian soldiers, including many foreigners, entered the Russian border region of Kursk near the Bryansk region during their offensive into Russian territory, but most of them have already been eliminated, according to Russian military officials.

Russian forces have prevented an attempt to penetrate the Klimovsky district of the Bryansk Region by a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group, Governor Alexander Bogomaz said on Wednesday.
"On August 21, an attempt of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group to infiltrate the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped in the Klimovsky district of the Bryansk Region," Bogomaz said on Telegram.

He added, "During the battle, an attempt to break through was prevented by the forces of the FSB of Russia in the Bryansk region and units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation. The enemy was hit by fire."
The situation in place of the clash has now been stabilized and is under the control of the regional Operational headquarters, the governor said.
