The Valdai Discussion Club, a prominent Moscow-based think tank, will host its 2nd Russia-Africa Conference on July 24th in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The conference, titled "Russia-Africa: Strategy of Cooperation in a Multipolar World," will bring together 40 experts from Russia and East Africa to explore key areas of collaboration.
The agenda includes discussions on:
Progress Since the 2nd Russia-Africa Summit: Assessing the current state of political dialogue between Russia and African nations;
Economic and Technological Cooperation: Exploring opportunities for development through joint ventures and partnerships;
Climate Change Collaboration: Examining shared challenges and potential solutions to addressing climate change;
Shared Values and Cultural Exchange: Promoting understanding and cooperation through cultural programs and initiatives.
The conference aims to align Russian and African perspectives on various issues, paving the way for closer cooperation in real-world politics.

In an interview with Sputnik Africa, Godwin Gonde, a lecturer at Tanzania's Centre for Foreign Relations, emphasized the conference's potential to foster new partnerships and strengthen existing ties.
"The conference itself, apart from being a place or a ground for discussion, it also calls upon mutual ties in terms of diplomatic relations, in terms of economic relations, and why not academic relations between the two," he said.
Gonde highlighted Russia's non-interventionist foreign policy as a key factor in attracting African nations.
According to him, this policy, coupled with President Vladimir Putin's leadership, has instilled confidence in Russia's commitment to respectful and trust-based relationships with African countries.
"Africa is in the position now to make into practice about everything that will be discussed, including finding new areas of cooperation that most of the African countries can have with Russia," the Tanzanian expert noted.
