"Two were killed, three injured in the airstrikes on Al Hudaydah," the Houthi security source said.
These are the first airstrikes by Israel against Houthi targets in Yemen. Houthis announced in the fall that they would target Israeli-associated vessels in the Red Sea until Israel halted its offensive against Gaza.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said on Saturday that the Israeli strike on the western Yemeni port city of Al Hudaydah had been a blow to "the Iranian-backed terror organization."
"Israel delivered a severe blow to the Iranian-backed terror organization in Yemen today. We will strike anyone who strikes us. Iran supports, trains, and finances the Houthi terror organization as part of its regional network of terror organizations aimed at attacking Israel," Katz said on X.
He also called on the international community to step up sanctions against Iran.
