Egypt is concerned about the recent Israeli strike on the western Yemeni port city of Hudaydah and calls on all parties to de-escalate, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said.
"The Arab Republic of Egypt expressed concern over the Israeli military operation in Yemen, which further increases the current tensions," the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
Egypt calls on all parties to exercise restraint and de-escalate, the statement added.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed concern over Israeli strikes in and around the port of Hudaydah and called for avoiding attacks that could affect civilians and civilian infrastructure, the secretary-general's office said.
"The Secretary-General is deeply concerned about the reports of airstrikes earlier today in and around the port of Al Hudaydah in Yemen. The Secretary-General calls on all concerned to avoid attacks that could harm civilians and damage civilian infrastructure," the statement read.
Guterres has also warned against the risk of further escalation in the region and urged all parties "to exercise utmost restraint," the statement said.
The Houthi security source told Sputnik that two people were killed and three injured in the Israeli airstrikes.
