Kagame Thanks Rwandans After Winning 99.15% of Vote in Election, According to Partial Results

In addition to Paul Kagame, the current head of state and leader of the Rwandan Patriotic Front, candidates in Rwanda's presidential election included Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda and Philippe Mpayimana, an independent candidate.

Rwanda's incumbent President Paul Kagame thanked his compatriots after winning 99.15% of the vote in presidential election, according to partial results.
"The results that have been presented indicate a very high score, these are not just figures, even if it was 100 percent, these are not just numbers," he said. "These figures show the trust, and that is what is most important."
