The Republic of the Congo is counting on the development of its agriculture sector together with Russia, President Denis Sassou Nguesso said in an interview with Sputnik, adding that Russia could help the country in the production of agricultural products.
"The main focus of our current development plan for 2022-2026 is on agricultural development. We think that ... Russia could help Congo in the production of agricultural products, rice, corn, soybeans, and in the areas of livestock and poultry farming. This topic is our focus today," Sassou Nguesso said.
The Republic of the Congo has vast agricultural lands and a suitable climate, so Russian companies could take part in the development of agriculture, the president added.
"Subject to significant investment, with the support of our Russian friends, there is a chance for the development of this sector," the leader added.
