"On June 25, 2024, as a result of the negotiation process, 90 Russian servicepeople who were in mortal danger in captivity were returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime. In return, 90 prisoners of war of the Ukrainian armed forces were transferred," the statement said.

The UAE provided mediation efforts during the return of the Russian soldiers from Ukrainian captivity, the ministry added.
In February, Russia returned 100 prisoners from the territory under Kiev's control following negotiations, while Kiev also received 100 prisoners in exchange.
Since the Russian-Ukrainian conflict began in February 2022, the two sides have conducted several prisoner exchanges.
