"The sultanate of Oman is open to strengthening and deepening economic ties with Russia in all aspects," Azzan Qassim AL. Busaidi, Under Secretary of Tourism at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of Oman, told Sputnik Africa.
"Our participation here today [at the SPIEF 2024] is to showcase the potential of tourism in Oman. In terms of investments, in terms of different segments of tourism, whether it is adventure tourism, luxury tourism, or cultural tourism," he said on the sidelines of the SPIEF 2024.
Apart from tourism, the country is interested in strengthening ties in other economic sectors; that's why a number of Omani companies are present at the forum, he added.
"I believe there are many areas of cooperation [in which] Oman is open and willing to strengthen the relationship. It is these platforms where the companies meet with each other, government officials as well, and exchange views, and engage with each other to move these relationships further," the official said.
On Wednesday, SPIEF 2024 kicked off in Russia under the theme Foundations of a Multipolar World: The Formation of New Areas of Growth.
