Russia's Karpinsky Geological Research Institute opened a specialized class at the National Museum of Geology of Mozambique.
"The contribution of Soviet geologists to the knowledge of Mozambique's subsoil is significant. We are happy to return to this cooperation, to pass on our knowledge, strengthening friendly and professional relations," the head of the institute, Pavel Khimchenko, said at the opening ceremony.
He added that at the classes, students and specialists may learn more about the results of the latest research of geoscientists of the Karpinsky Institute, modern methodological and IT developments.
During the opening ceremony, the representatives of Mozambique's Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, Russian Embassy to the African country and the museum's management gave welcoming speeches and wished success in the educational work.
The Karpinsky class in Mozambique is the third one on the African continent, after the launch of such classes in Ghana and Ethiopia.
