The Palestinian issue is a priority for the Arab countries, which are making every effort to resolve it, devoting all discussions and meetings of the negotiating groups to it, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the Arab League, told Sputnik.
"All discussions and meetings, including the activities of the League of Arab States and the various negotiating groups, are focused only on this issue. Many countries in the region are actively engaged with the Palestinian people and are working hard to liberate [Palestine] from the Israeli occupation. This is the main task; everyone is working on it," he said.
Aboul Gheit added that what is needed is the realization of the two-state solution, so that two countries exist side by side for the sake of peace and stability, which is "an elusive but realistic goal."
The Arab League chief's remarks came on the sidelines of the 13th Annual Investment Congress (AIM Congress 2024) in Abu Dhabi.
About 12,000 people from more than 170 countries are attending the Congress, including businessmen, economists, investment experts and entire government delegations. Hundreds of business meetings, seminars and sessions will take place over three days.
In addition, the venue features booths from both individual companies and entire intergovernmental and international organizations, such as BRICS.
