Turkey Reportedly Suspends All Trade With Israel

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a phone conversation with his Gambian counterpart, Adama Barrow, that the Islamic world should act in unity to stop Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Turkey has suspended all trade relations with Israel, with all imports and exports halted as of Thursday, the US media reported, citing two Turkish officials familiar with the matter.
Ankara has not yet officially announced the decision, the report said.
A day earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Turkey has made a formal decision to join South Africa's lawsuit against Israel at the UN International Court of Justice.

Relations between Israel and Turkey have deteriorated sharply amid the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Turkey also recalled its ambassador from Tel Aviv for consultations.
