Algeria's Accession Process to New BRICS Development Bank Enters Its Final Phase

Algeria's accession process to the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB) enters its final phase.
"I recently held talks in Washington with the head of the NDB, during which we discussed the progress of this process," said the country's Finance Minister, Laziz Fayed, at a press conference on April 27.

In the case of Algeria, the process of joining the NDB is different from the process of joining the BRICS group, he stressed.
In July, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said that his country's initial contribution to the NDB would be $1.5 billion.
According to the head of state, Algeria receives more support from the BRICS countries than from Western countries. He also mentioned that Algeria has already formally applied to join the BRICS and the NDB.
