Moscow is ready to help train specialists from African countries to respond to biosecurity emergencies both in Russia and on the African continent, said Vyacheslav Smolensky, deputy head of the Russian Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare.
"There is already experience of training in African countries, and we are ready to support and train them both in African countries and in Russia on the basis of the centers we have," Smolensky said at the First Russian-African International Conference on Combating Infectious Diseases, held in Kampala.
He noted that such work would involve the transfer of mobile equipment and mobile laboratories designed to respond to disease outbreaks.
In fact, according to Smolensky, it is a matter of creating a certain network of response to infectious emergencies with support centers in key countries, primarily those that are logistically ready to assist neighboring countries as well.
