"President Abdel Fattah Sisi received today [Tuesday] the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, and his accompanying delegation," the statement said.
The parties discussed developments in the region during the meeting, paying special attention to the ways to achieve stability in the Middle East in light of the crisis in the Gaza Strip and regional tensions in the region, the statement read.
Sisi and Naryshkin also touched upon a number of issues related to Africa, the fight against terrorism and developments in the international arena, including Ukraine and Afghanistan, the office added.
