Kenyan President William Ruto received Ghana's most prestigious award, The Companion of the Order of the Star of the Volta.
Praising Ruto as a paragon among a new breed of African leaders committed to enforcing accountability and due process, Ghanian President Nana Akufo-Addo recognized Ruto's efforts despite potential political fallout.
"Under your leadership," President Akufo-Addo said, "Kenya has become a shining example of a nation governed by the rule of law," adding that "Kenya has regained its place of pride at the international stage."
Akufo-Addo cited falling inflation, an increase in the number of start-ups, and the growing number of Kenyans receiving housing and health insurance as reasons for his position.
