Israeli Airstrikes Near Syria's Damascus Injure Two Civilians, Reports Say

TUNIS (Sputnik) - In February, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad reminded that Syria has waged several wars against Israel and warned that it's ready for new ones, adding that his country is also ready to liberate parts of its territory occupied illegally by Israel, the United States and Turkey.

Israel has carried out airstrikes on the outskirts of Syria's Damascus, leaving two civilians injured, the Syrian state-run SANA news agency reported on Sunday, citing a military source.

"Today at around 9:30 pm [18:30 GMT], the Israeli enemy carried out air aggression from Syria's occupied Golan Heights, targeting a number of objects on the outskirts of Damascus. As a result of aggression, two civilians were injured and property was damaged," the source was quoted as saying.

Syrian air defense repelled the attack, the source said.
