Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov held a meeting with the ambassador of Egypt in Moscow on Friday.
"During the conversation, a detailed exchange of views took place on current Middle Eastern issues with an emphasis on the development of the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone. At the same time, the importance the UN Security Council’s 2728 resolution adopted on March 25 and the need to urgently establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for the month of Ramadan were noted," the ministry said.
Earlier, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for Ramadan.
