Rwandan President Agrees to Meet With DRC Leader to Discuss Crisis in Eastern DRC, Reports Say

The Eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been long suffering from insecurity caused by various rebel groups, most notably, the M23 group. The instability in the region led to extensive displacement of the population, with millions of individuals being compelled to flee their homes, according to the UN humanitarian agency OCHA.

Rwandan President Paul Kagame expressed his readiness to meet with his Congolese counterpart Felix Tshisekedi to discuss the crisis in the eastern DRC, media reported.
The meeting will take place at a time, which is to be determined by the AU mediator in the DR Congo crisis, the Angolan government, the latter's Foreign Minister Tete Antonio told the media.
