Vice President of Zimbabwe Constantino Chiwenga paid a visit to the Russian technology park Innopolis, near the city of Kazan, which gave him some "valuable lessons."
"A country can be built by innovation, science and technology. We can learn several valuable lessons from the tour of Innopolis Smart City and grasp some insights on how to promote a technology- and innovation-driven economy," Chiwenga said, as cited by the local media.
The official also met Zimbabwean students in medical sciences, pharmacology and aerospace engineering, that study in the university of Innopolis thanks to scholarship programs.
On this occasion, Chiwenga placed emphasis on the education of the young Zimbabweans, "from early childhood to secondary education", to be able to later give them access to higher education.
The mayor of Innopolis, Ruslan Shagaleev, said he was ready to give "with great pleasure" some advice in the sector of technological innovation.
Innopolis is a satellite city of Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan. It is home to Innopolis University and the Innopolis special economic zone. It is one of three science cities in Russia created for the development of information technology and innovative high technologies.
