Russian President Vladimir Putin during a phone conversation has congratulated Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his 70th anniversary, the Turkish leader's office said on Monday.

During the phone talks, the two presidents have discussed relations between the countries, the presidential office said in a statement.
"During the conversation, president Putin thanked president Erdogan for his contribution to the development of relations between Turkey and Russia on a friendly basis​," the statement read.
