Russia is worried about the ownership of new types of lethal weapons, especially UAVs, by opponents of the legitimate Central African Republic (CAR) government, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Anna Evstigneeva said on Wednesday.
“We are also concerned that the arsenal of the opponents of legitimate Central African authorities now includes new types of lethal weapons. Specifically, cases have been recorded of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by them,” Evstigneeva told the Security Council members during a meeting on the Central African Republic.
We are also concerned about the use of improvised explosive devices, she added.
The President of the Central African Republic Faustin-Archange Touadera paid a visit to Moscow from February 14-16 and discussed current issues of the bilateral and international agenda. Russian President Putin did not hold a meeting with Touadera.
