Russian and Iran are consistently increasing their joint efforts in the interests of building an equal multipolar world, Russian defense minister, Sergei Shoigu said.
"The parties emphasized their commitment to the fundamental principles of Russian-Iranian relations, including unconditional respect for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which will be confirmed in the large interstate agreement being prepared for signing between Russia and Iran," the ministry said.
Shoigu and Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani have discussed military and military-technical cooperation and regional security over phone talks, according to the defense ministry.
On December 7, Moscow hosted a meeting between Putin and Raisi, during which the Russian leader emphasized that relation between the two nations "are developing very well."
