The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Friday that the Israeli air force had struck a Hezbollah operational command center in southern Lebanon.
"Earlier today, an IAF fighter jet struck a Hezbollah operational command center in the area of the town of Blida in Lebanon," the statement read.
IDF tanks and artillery also launched strikes in several areas in Lebanon, the IDF added.
"Earlier today, numerous launches were identified from Lebanon toward Israeli territory. The IDF struck the sources of the fire," the military added.
Last October, the Palestinian movement Hamas launched a large-scale rocket attack from Gaza across the border into Israel, killing more than 1,200 people and capturing some 240 others. Hamas said its operation, "The Flood of Al-Aqsa," was fueled by Israeli provocations and the continued occupation of Palestinian territories.
Israel launched retaliatory strikes, ordered a complete blockade of Gaza, and started a ground incursion into the Palestinian enclave with the declared goal of eliminating Hamas fighters and rescuing the hostages. Over 22,400 civilians, mostly children and women, have been killed in Gaza by Israeli strikes, according to local health authorities said.
