All those responsible for the shelling of central Donetsk on New Year's night, which Moscow designated a terrorist attack, will be held to account, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
"Russia's law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into this crime. All those involved and responsible for this and other terrorist attacks on the territory of our country will suffer inevitable punishment," the ministry's statement read.
The ministry has also called on the international community to "distance [themselves] from the actions and decisions of the Kiev junta and condemn its crimes aimed at demonstrative and cynical destruction of civilian population," adding that their non-reaction is interpreted by Kiev as silent approval.
Western countries should realize that they are sending NATO weapons to a state capable of using them against the alliance, the ministry added.
