The Libyan Energy Ministry delegation plans to visit Russia by the end of the year to discuss cooperation in energy projects, Awad Al-Badri, the minister of electricity and renewable energy of the Libyan parliament-appointed government, told Sputnik on Saturday.
"We welcome the participation of Russian companies in all energy projects, we have close relations, I am in contact with Foreign Minister [of the parliament-appointed government] Abdul Hadi Al-Hweij, and we are preparing a visit to Russia, which is scheduled to take place before the end of the year," Al-Badri said.
The minister added that he had received information from Libya's acting foreign minister, Taher Al-Baour, that Russia would soon open a consulate in Benghazi.
"This will certainly strengthen relations and facilitate communication with Russian companies," Al-Badri said.
