Trading Blows, Egypt's Tanks on Gaza Border: Palestinian-Israeli Conflict Rages On

A new outbreak of violence erupted in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on October 7th when Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip launched an ambush on southern Israel. In response, Israel declared war on the organization and carried out retaliatory bombings in Gaza, resulting in the tragic deaths of thousands of innocent civilians on both sides.

Egypt has announced the opening of the Rafah border crossing in order to allow wounded Palestinians, some foreigners and dual nationals to leave the conflict zone, AFP reported on Wednesday.
A source familiar with the matter told Sputnik that ambulances with the wounded from the Gaza Strip entered the territory of Egypt through the checkpoint.
On Tuesday, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Lt. Col. Richard Hecht confirmed the strike on the Jabalia camp in the Gaza Strip that left at least 400 people dead and injured. Those killed, according to the spokesman, he referred to as a "tragedy of war". Later, the IDF conducted a second strike on the camp, causing even more deaths, a Palestinian news agency reported.
So far, the death toll from Israeli strikes on Gaza has exceeded 8,500, among them are 3,542 children and 2,187 women, the enclave's health ministry said earlier. Israel has lost over 1,400 people, with at least 240 still remaining as hostages, Tel Aviv said.
