Russia-China Cooperation Has Played Active Role in Global Energy Security: Xi Jinping

BEIJING (Sputnik) – The fifth edition of the Russia-China Energy Business Forum (RCEBF) opened on Thursday in Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China. About 500 people, including politicians and representatives of more than 100 largest Russian and Chinese companies, are taking part in the event.

The cooperation between China and Russia in energy has played an active role in ensuring the energy security of the two countries and the entire world, Chinese President Xi Jinping said Thursday.
"[Energy cooperation] is an example of business cooperation between Russia and China, based on equality and mutual benefit. It has played an active role in ensuring the energy security and sustainable development of the two countries and the entire world," China Central Television quoted Xi as saying in a congratulatory letter to the Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum.
Common Threats Strengthen Interaction Between Russia and China, Putin Says
According to the Chinese President, thanks to the efforts of Russia and China, the energy cooperation of the countries has become comprehensive and large-scale.

"Thanks to the long years of joint efforts by China and Russia, energy cooperation between the two countries has become comprehensive, wide-ranging, deep and high-level in nature," he stated.

Xi noted that China is ready to work with Russia to improve the sustainability of supply chains in energy.

"Looking into the future, China is ready to cooperate with Russia to build a high-level partnership in energy and continuously improve the sustainability of supply chains in energy," emphasized Xi Jinping.

The Chinese president also expressed his willingness to promote long-term healthy, stable and sustainable development of the global energy market and to contribute to building a global clean energy partnership together with Russia.
The fifth Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum (RCEBF) opened on Thursday in the capital of the People's Republic of China, Beijing, and is scheduled to last two days. The event has been held annually since 2018 in accordance with the agreements reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
