At Least One Civilian Killed, 11 Injured in Ukraine's Attack on Zaporozhye Region

The Zaporozhye region became part of Russia in accordance with the results of the referendum held in September 2022. However, the Ukrainian side does not recognize its legitimacy and continues to shell the region.

The residential area of ​​the town of Tokmak in the Zaporozhye region was shelled by Ukrainian Armed Forces on Sunday, according to the regional authorities.
The administration of the Zaporozhye region said that at least one civilian was killed and 11 more were injured in Tokmak as a result of a missile attack carried out by Ukrainian forces. It specified that three children are among the injured.
"As a result of the shelling of Tokmak in the period from 13:30 to 13:40 [local time, GMT+3], attacks were recorded in the area of a five-story residential building on Shevchenko Street, one rocket hit the roof of a five-story residential building on Gogol Street [...]. One death and 11 injuries were reported, among whom are three children," read the statement.
It was noted that a gas pipeline and power lines in the area were also damaged, resulting in the northern pumping station being cut off from power. Emergency services are working at the scene.
