US Reportedly Redirects $55Mln of Military Aid for Egypt to Taiwan Over Human Rights Issue

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - Overall, the United States is withholding $85 million in assistance to Cairo unless the Egyptian government releases political prisoners. The withheld funds are only a small portion of the $1.3 billion in military aid the United States provides Egypt annually.
