A Ukrainian drone has been intercepted over the Bryansk Region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
"On August 4 of this year, at about 16:30 pm Moscow time [01:30 pm GMT], the Kiev regime’s attempt to carry out a terrorist attack by an aircraft-type drone on facilities in Russia was thwarted. The Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was intercepted over the territory of the Bryansk Region," the ministry said in a statement.
Earlier on Monday, Russian electronic warfare forces suppressed two Ukrainian drones in the Bryansk region, including over the Klintsovskaya thermal power plant, Governor Alexander Bogomaz said.
Last week, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the terrorist activity of the Kiev regime continues, as the vast majority of drones fly to civilian targets.
“Terrorist activity of the Kiev regime really continues, the vast majority of drones fly precisely at civilian targets,” Peskov said, answering a question about what Moscow attributes to the fact that the recent big-drone attack was so large-scale.
He also noted that the special military operation will be continued in order to eradicate such threats.
"We continue and will continue a special military operation in order to eradicate such threats to us," Peskov said.
Last Wednesday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the attack by Ukrainian drones on Russian regions confirms the terrorist nature of the Kiev regime, Ukrainian drones would not have been able to fly such a distance without data from the Western satellites.
