Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has once again condemned the World Bank’s decision to withdraw the funding for the country, calling some western actors, including the lender, "insufferable".
"Some of these [Western] imperialist actors, are insufferable. [...] They are so shallow, they do not know when and where to stop," he said on social media.
The leader also noted that foreign aid and loans are welcome, but "are neither decisive nor indispensable elements for [Ugandan] desired social-economic transformation."
In his previous message of August 9, Museveni estimated the World Bank's move as an attempt to "coerce [Uganda] into abandoning [its] faith, culture, principles and sovereignty, using money."
