Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani has said that the events in Russia are an internal matter for the country, stressing that Tehran supports the rule of law on the entire territory of Russia.

On Friday night, the headquarters of the Southern Military District in Rostov-on-Don (southwest) was seized by forces of the Wagner PMC. Groups of armed men are moving around the city, and roadblocks have been set up at the entrances and exits.
This happened amid the statements made by Prigozhin about the alleged rocket-bombing of the PMC Wagner camps by Russian Armed Forces, which were denied by both the Russian Defense Ministry and the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB).
Russian President Vladimir Putin called the mutineers' actions a criminal adventure, a stab in the back of Russia and treason caused by excessive ambition and personal interests.
All those who took the path of treachery, blackmail and terrorist methods will suffer inevitable punishment, the Russian Armed Forces have received the necessary orders, the president added.
According to Putin, the situation in Rostov-on-Don remains difficult and the work of civil and military authorities is blocked. In order to suppress possible terrorist attacks, an anti-terrorist operation was introduced in Moscow city, as well as Moscow and Voronezh regions.
