In a renewed attempt to stop al-Shabaab assaults, which are carried out with the help of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), in both Kenya and neighboring Somalia, the Kenyan government is modernizing Kenya Defense Forces and police artillery, according to Defense Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aden Duale.
After talking to seniors and community leaders about security concerns in Masalani town in Garissa County, the CS stated that the government would no longer tolerate terrorist attacks in any region of the nation.
According to the CS, the machinery will comprise advanced armored personnel carriers that can detect IEDs in the vicinity of the zones they are in charge of.
According to reports, at least 22 officers have been slain in strikesby al-Shabaab in the past two weeks in Kenya's counties of Garissa and Lamu.
