Ukrainian tankers participating in the counteroffensive in the area of Zaporozhye are simulating the breakdown of their combat vehicles out of fear of a fight with the Russian army, representatives of the Leopard 2 tank crew stationed near the military operations told German media.
"A 22-year-old loader with the call sign "Hudzik" reports that there are soldiers who refuse to participate in the war. Some imitate damage to the tank, just not to go into battle," media outlet states.
According to reports, none of the three Leopard 2 crew members do not condemn the "refuseniks", since if a Russian shell hits the turret of a combat vehicle, "then you will become a pile of ashes."
In the first days of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, three Leopard tanks ran into mines that Russian troops "laid almost everywhere." One of the German tanks cannot be restored, the second is immobilized, and the third cannot be reached due to the large number of mines.
"It's not newcomers who are fighting on the other side. They would have run away if Leopard had shot at them. But these bastards are strong," the publication quotes the gunner "Misha".
According to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, before participating in hostilities, they all underwent training in Germany from mid-February to the end of March, the report says.
