MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The dressing-down that Ukraine's Zelensky received in Washington on Friday is evidence of the political weakness and extreme moral degradation of those European leaders who continue to advocate for the support for Zelensky long after he lost touch with reality, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman emphasized.
Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington is Kiev's complete political and diplomatic failure, with his rude behavior confirming that he is the worst threat to the international community, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Saturday.
"Zelensky's visit to Washington on February 28 is a complete political and diplomatic failure of the Kiev regime. [...] With his unbelievably rude behavior, Zelensky confirmed that he is a warmonger and the worst threat to the international community," Zakharova said in a statement.
Russia has repeatedly warned about the Ukrainian leader's inadequacy, corruption, lust for power and inability to negotiate, the spokeswoman added.
"For this purpose, he has cracked down on the opposition, built a totalitarian state and is mercilessly sending millions of his fellow citizens to their deaths. In the current political conditions, which are becoming increasingly worse for the Kiev regime, this man is not able to act responsibly and is therefore obsessed with continuing the war and rejecting peace," the Russian official noted.
