MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Earlier, Igor Yushkov, an expert at the Financial University under the Russian Government, told Sputnik Africa that a potential ban on Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to the European Union will have a significant financial impact on Europeans, but will not destabilize Russia.
The European Union will not completely ban the import of LNG from Russia as part of a new sanctions package, Politico reported on Wednesday, citing two EU diplomats.
Instead of a complete ban on LNG imports, the European Commission will propose to stop the flow of Russian LNG to EU terminals that are not part of the bloc's gas system. This restriction will not affect the majority of LNG imports.
