Cote d'Ivoire is going to launch its "world-class" gold deposit in 2028, the press service of the country’s President Alassane Ouattara said.The deposit is named "Tanda-Iguela," the site was discovered in 2022. According to Ian Cockerill, the CEO of Endeavour Mining, the company operating the deposit, its production is estimated at around 11 tonnes of gold per year.In addition, it is planned to produce a total of 150 tonnes of gold within 15 years. The development of the deposit will create around 4,000 job vacancies, 530 billion CFA francs ($851 million) are expected to be invested in the project.In May, a gold deposit was discovered in the west, the largest in the country to date, the Canadian mining group Montage Gold said. Named the "Kone project," its resources are estimated at 155.5 tonnes of gold.
