According to the World Bank, the Algerian economy increased by 3.9% in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year; the inflation rate went down to 4.3% over the first nine months of the current year.
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune signed the 2025 budget law on Sunday, the press service of Tebboune's administration said.
According to a local news outlet, citing the document, the economic growth in 2025-2026 is expected to reach 4.5%, and at the same time, non-hydrocarbon exports would increase to 5%.
The report said that budget revenues are projected to rise by 3.5% in 2025; the number will account for about DZD8,523.06 billion (over $64 billion). The expenditures of the government are set to grow to 9.9% (DZD16,794.61 billion, or about $126 billion).
In the past years, the country's GDP grew by 3.8% in 2021, 3.6% in 2022, and by 4.1% in 2023.
