Addressing hundreds of supporters, Nauyoma praised the SWAPO-led government for listening to citizens' concerns and delivering tangible results. He cited the Massive Urban Land Servicing Programme as a key success which has provided housing for residents in areas like Oshakati, Khomasdal, and Otjomuise.
SWAPO activist Dimbulukeni Nauyoma has
defended the party’s governance record, highlighting achievements in housing, education, and transparency during the star rally held at Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek on Sunday.
“Young and old now have homes because of this initiative,” he said.
Nauyoma also addressed youth issues, referring to protests about delayed student funding by the Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF).
“The government responded by increasing student allowances to N.dollars 2 000 [about $111] per month,” he noted, calling this a clear sign of SWAPO’s commitment to empowering young Namibians.
On governance, he highlighted increased
transparency, including the introduction of public interviews for judicial positions.
“This shows the government is accountable and willing to act on the voices of its people,” Nauyoma added.
As Namibia approaches the November 27
general election, Nauyoma urged voters to focus on SWAPO’s accomplishments rather than opposition criticisms. He described the upcoming poll as historic, with the possibility of electing the first female presidential candidate on the ballot.
“The SWAPO Party listens, acts, and delivers. Let us go to the polls with this in mind,” he concluded.
