The First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, following the Second Russia-Africa Summit in 2023, began its work on Saturday at the Sirius Federal Territory of Sirius University in Russia's southern city of Sochi.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos discussed issues of deepening the two countries' coordination in BRICS and the UN during talks on the sidelines of the First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

"During the conversation, the main areas for further expansion of mutually beneficial Russian-Ethiopian cooperation were discussed in detail, including the expansion of trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian ties. At the same time, Moscow and Addis Ababa's focus on deepening political dialogue and closely coordinating approaches in BRICS and the UN on key issues on the international agenda was confirmed," the ministry stated.
