Earlier, four foreign mercenaries attempting to infiltrate Russia's Bryansk region were eliminated by Russian forces, the Federal Security Service (FSB) announced. Items proving their foreign origin were found on the dead saboteurs, and one of them had a US military tattoo on his body, the FSB said.

A French journalist covering the conflict in Donbas told Sputnik Africa that the presence of foreign mercenaries fighting alongside Ukrainian forces is no secret.

"The Biden-Harris camp is obviously afraid of losing the elections," Laurent Brayard stated following reports of foreign mercenaries being eliminated on the Russian border. "And of course, that would mean the end of US support [to Ukraine], financially at least."
