German Chancellor Olaf Scholz refuses to provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles, despite continued pressure from Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, the Federal Government Spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit said on Monday. Earlier on Monday, Baerbock told the ARD broadcaster that she backed calls to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles and allow it to fire them deep into Russia. Foreign Office spokesman Sebastian Fischer told reporters that it would take a unanimous decision of the three-party coalition government to lift restrictions on Taurus supplies to Kiev. Hebestreit said that talks between the US and the UK leaders about allowing Ukrainian strikes deep into Russia did not cover German-made weapons.

Scholz Adamant About Denying Ukraine Missiles Despite Pressure From Baerbock: Cabinet Spokesperson
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On September 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed updating the country's nuclear posture. He said Russia reserved the right to use nuclear weapons in the event of aggression, including if the enemy used conventional weapons to threaten Russia's or Belarus' sovereignty.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz
refuses to provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles, despite continued pressure from Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, the Federal Government Spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit said on Monday.
"The federal chancellor has held a clear position on this issue for a long time, and it remains unchanged," Hebestreit told reporters.
Earlier on Monday, Baerbock told the ARD broadcaster that she backed
calls to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles and allow it to fire them deep into Russia.
Foreign Office spokesman Sebastian Fischer told reporters that it would take a unanimous decision of the three-party coalition government to lift restrictions on Taurus supplies to Kiev.
Hebestreit said that
talks between the US and the UK leaders about allowing Ukrainian strikes deep into Russia did not cover German-made weapons.
