Earlier, members of the Alliance of Sahel States sent a letter to the president of the United Nations Security Council condemning Ukraine's support for terrorist groups operating in the Sahel region.
Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop criticized the UN Security Council for failing to consider a complaint from the AES regarding
Ukraine's open support for terrorism in Africa at the first Summit of the Future at the UN in New York on Sunday.
"We call on the Security Council to take appropriate responsibilities in the face of this deliberate choice by Ukraine in order to prevent subversive actions that threaten our stability," Abdoulaye Diop said during a session of the UN General Assembly.
Diop also added that the UN Secretary General condemned the terrorist attack on the capital of Mali on September 17, but no real action followed.
"All states must act in accordance with their international obligations to ensure that those responsible for these crimes, as well as their financiers and sponsors, are held accountable," the top diplomat said.
He also reiterated the
AES' call for interested parties to stop "using terrorist groups as tools and destabilizing sovereign states."
At the end of August, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger sent a letter to the president of the UN Security Council condemning
Kiev for supporting terrorism in the Sahel. The letter called on the Security Council to prevent Ukraine's subversive actions in Africa.
