MOSCOW (Sputnik) - A state of emergency has been declared in the Ostrogozhsky District of Russia's Voronezh Region due to nighttime detonations of explosive devices, prompting the evacuation of residents and the establishment of temporary accommodation points, the regional governor, Alexander Gusev, said on Saturday.
The detonations were caused by a fire that broke out after a drone was neutralized in the Voronezh region.
"A state of emergency has been declared in the Ostrogozhsky District, where a fire broke out near explosive objects at night and detonations began. Residents of one settlement are being evacuated with the participation of emergency services. Temporary accommodation points have been set up for them, buses have been organized. There are currently several dozen people in the temporary accommodation points. Most of the evacuees have been accommodated with relatives and friends," Gusev said on Telegram.
No civilians have been injured, according to preliminary data. Assessment of potential damages will be conducted only after the complete elimination of the consequences of the detonations, Gusev said.
