The Nigerian national is determined to fight for the recognition and protection of his invention, which has the potential to be a crucial solution to the global climate crisis, aiming to bring its benefits to both Nigeria and the world.
Olusegun Adeleye, a Nigerian inventor, has accused the European Patent Office (EPO) of stealing his groundbreaking invention, a technology designed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from coal and natural gas.
Adeleye claims the EPO hijacked his patent application, preventing him from securing protection for his innovation.
The Nigerian inventor, who dedicated 29 years to researching and developing his technology, believes the EPO's actions were deliberate, aiming to deprive both him and his country, Nigeria, of the immense benefits his invention could bring.

Adeleye's technology, which removes carbon dioxide and pollutants from fossil fuels, has the potential to be a crucial solution to the global climate crisis.

He estimates that his invention could have generated €1.5 billion for Nigeria and created millions of jobs, significantly impacting the country's economic development and poverty reduction.
Adeleye has written to the European Union and the World Intellectual Property Organization seeking assistance in resolving this matter, alleging that the EPO's actions constitute intellectual property "theft" and "bullying."
