CAIRO (Sputnik) - Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah said it had fired at Israeli military positions 19 times over the past two days. The movement said in a statement that Hezbollah fighters struck Israeli military positions ten times on Wednesday and nine times on Thursday.
On Thursday, Hezbollah said it fired 200 rockets at three Israeli headquarters in northern Israel. The movement later said it attacked seven Israeli headquarters and bases with drones.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Hezbollah fired about 200 rockets into the north of the country during the attack, some of which were intercepted by the IDF's air defenses and air force.

Israel Approves Operational Plans for Offensive in Lebanon
The IDF said, on June 18, Israel approved and validated operational plans for an offensive in Lebanon. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said later that Israel was "very close" to a decision to "change the rules" against Hezbollah and Lebanon, and threatened to destroy the movement "in an all-out war" and "severely hit" Lebanon.
Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah said, on June 19, that the movement could invade northern Israel if the confrontation intensifies further.
The situation on the Israeli-Lebanese border worsened after the start of Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. The Israeli army and Lebanese Hezbollah fighters daily fire at each other's positions in areas along the border.
