MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Earlier in the day, the Council of the EU decided to suspend the broadcasting activities of four more Russia-associated media outlets, namely Voice of Europe, RIA Novosti, Izvestia and Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Russia considers new sanctions against media in the European Union’s political censorship and an attempt to remove alternative points of view from the information space, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.
"We consider this move by the EU as a continuation of the practice of political censorship, total cleansing of the information space from any alternative viewpoints to Western narratives," Zakharova said in a statement, published by the ministry.
